Though Tommy Nation took his last mortal breath this morning, January 28, 2020 around 6:45; we know he did not give up on life and refused to give in to the disease that took him down. “Boola-Boola” cancer did not win! Tommy’s voice, heart and spirit wins.
All who heard him win.
Tommy cared. He cheered for you who were fortunate enough to come into his fold, and he unfolded his magnanimous wings to take you in under them.
We will memorialize his life with love and music at his 70th birthday celebration Sunday, 02-02-2020 from 2:00-4:00+- @ The Evening Muse.
You are welcome to join in song and cheer. And CHEER FOR TOMMY!

Shaila was a unique, charismatic, engaging benefactor of humanity and a gifted scientist who traveled the world generously sharing his abundant wit, compassion and knowledge.
He was an ‘equal opportunity’ connoisseur of both the finer and simpler pleasures of life, and wholly devoted to his family and friends.
Shaila was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer in May 2016. The cancer was unusually aggressive and failed to respond to state-of-the-art treatment. Though we have come far in treating cancer, there is much, much more that needs to be accomplished.
To honor the memory, beautiful spirit and extraordinary influences (both in personal and scientific domains), The Shaila Basavappa Fund has been established through DrumsForCures to support further research and treatment in colorectal cancer.
Your generous donations will ensure a most positive impact.
